SpaceX launches all-civilian crew for first private spacewalk September 09, 2024 at 11:44PM

SpaceX's Polaris Dawn mission launched successfully after several weather delays, sending a four-person civilian crew into Earth's Van Allen radiation belts. Led by billionaire Jared Isaacman, this mission includes the first commercial spacewalk and aims to surpass NASA’s Gemini 11 mission’s highest Earth orbit record. The Falcon 9 rocket lifted off from Nasa's Kennedy Space Center.
