New Zealand's National Party well-positioned to form new government October 13, 2023 at 11:15PM

New Zealand's centre-right National Party, led by Christopher Luxon, is poised to form a new government with its preferred coalition party ACT, as early results indicate they may secure a majority in the general election. The National Party had 41% of the votes, while the governing Labour Party had 26%. The Electoral Commission projected that National and ACT together would have enough seats to form a government without the need for a third party.
