Maldives, China sign 21 agreements after Muizzu-Xi meeting amid diplomatic row with India January 10, 2024 at 03:12AM

Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks with Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu and signed 20 key agreements, elevating their bilateral ties to a comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. Muizzu made an official visit to China at a time when there was a diplomatic row with India. He appealed to China to send more tourists to the Maldives and praised the BRI projects. Muizzu also sought investments from Chinese companies for 11 projects at the Maldives Investment Forum.
