While the negotiations for a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between India and the Eurasian Economic Union had been interrupted by the pandemic, Jaishankar said he would work towards progress in the talks as it would make real difference to the trade relationship. With annual bilateral trade having shot up to $45 billion this year, he also called for addressing the growing trade imbalance.
